Three Races and three different winners over Memorial Day Weekend
The Malvern Bank Super Late Models ran three races in three days over Memorial Day weekend and had three different winners. The weekend started off on Friday, May 26 at the Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids, Iowa with 30 cars checking in for action. Heat races went to Tad Pospisil, Andrew Kosiski, Matt Buller and Bob Milander.
In the feature event it was Norfolk’s Tad Pospisil picking up the win and a $777 bonus for winning the Home Pride Jackpot (winning two races in a row). Following Pospisil to the checkers were Kyle Berck, Jesse Sobbing, Bill Leighton, Jr., and Matt Buller.
On Saturday, May 27 it was off to the Off Road Speedway on the edge of Norfolk, Nebraska where 36 Super Late Models checked in to race for the enlarged purse thanks to Todd Borgmeyer and the TB Companies. Heat race wins went to Jesse Sobbing, Bill Leighton, Jr., Kyle Berck, Corey Zeitner and Brian Kosiski.
In an A feature that saw some great action it was Bill Leighton, Jr. in the Mark Wright #24 taking home the winner’s check of $2,500. Following Leighton to the line were Jesse Sobbing, Corey Zeitner, Brian Kosiski and Tad Pospisil.
The weekend’s action finished out at the tight little bullring of Raceway Park north of Sioux City, Iowa as 28 cars checked in to do battle. Heat race wins went to Matt Buller, Sterling Perkins, Corey Zeitner and Nate Beyenhof. In the feature it was Jesse Sobbing picking up the win followed by Kyle Berck, Matt Buller, Nate Beyenhof and Ben Schaller.
After five events the Malvern Bank point standings are as follows; Jesse Sobbing 484, Tad Pospisil 470, Bill Leighton, Jr., 464, Kyle Berck 456 and Corey Zeitner 448. The series returns to action this Friday, June 2 at the I-80 Dirt Classic at I-80 Speedway.
