The SLMR Series to kick off it’s 8th season
The SLMR Series recently released it’s 2015 schedule and as the series enters it’s eighth season things keep getting better. First, Malvernbank.com had stepped up and increased the monies in the point fund. Actually, in 2015, not only has Malvernbank.com posted a $21,000 point fund, Malvern has also have added an additional $4,500 to fund three different motor option point funds and have put more monies in several SLMR events. Secondly, the purse has been increased to $9,500 for a 20 car feature with all starters making at least $300.
The series which was created to keep Super Late Model racing alive in Nebraska and the surrounding area announced a 17 race schedule for 2015. The season will kick off on Sunday, May 16 at the Junction Motor Speedway, long a stable of SLMR racing and come to a close on Saturday, October 10 at I-80 Speedway during the running the annual Cornhusker Classic. For the complete SLMR schedule visit www.slmrseries.com.
One of reasons for the success of the series is the versatile engine rule package that allows many different engine options to complete thereby allowing drivers to use engines that they already have or they are using to compete at their local tracks in the SLMR series.
The affordable purse structure ($9,500 purse with no sanction fees) allows smaller tracks in the area to be able to afford to have a Super Late Model Special once or twice a year. That and the financial support of Malvernbank.com should ensure for another great season in 2015. So the Malvernbank.com “Race for the Safe” will be stronger than ever.
