Leighton has campaigned with the Malvern Bank Series for the last several years and was the 2016 series runner-up. He is currently tied with Tad Pospisil for the second most wins in series history with 13. This year Leighton has won both of the series events at the Off Road Speedway in Norfolk and sets fourth in series points with 1,428 points.

Leighton has nine top fives and 15 top tens in Malvern Bank Series events this year behind the wheel of the Mark Wright owned #24.

The Malvern Bank Series closes out its 2017 season at the Midwest Fall Brawl at I-80 Speedway on Saturday, September 30. Drivers will be racing for an increased purse of $3,000 to win and $500 to start in celebration of the series tenth year.
