East Series Update
“The Haulin’ with Hoker” Malvern Bank Super Late Model East Update
Recently Joe & Steve Kosiski purchased the touring series rights of the IMCA Deery Brothers Series from the International Motor Contest Association (IMCA) and Brett Root. We have had many inquiries about the new Series which will be called “The Haulin’ with Hoker” Malvern Bank East Series. The new series will be racing primarily in Eastern & Central Iowa but will also make stops in Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Nebraska. Below is some of the information we currently have to share with you.
1. Shown below is a 2020 schedule for “The Haulin’ with Hoker” Malvern Bank East Series which includes what the races are posted to pay to win and what they are posted to start. There has been some confusion about this.
2. Entry fees are $65 early online (pre-registration closes 3 days before the event at 11 PM). Entry fee at the track will be $75 for all standard purse shows. Series memberships are $150 for either Series or $250 for both. You must be a Series member to collect any point fund or nightly/year-end contingencies.
3. For 2020, Hoker Trucking of Dixon, Iowa and Malvern Bank of Malvern, Iowa are funding the point fund for the East Series.
4. “The Haulin’ with Hoker” Malvern Bank East Series will have a separate point fund from the Malvern Bank West Series (which is the new name for the traditional Malvern Bank Series). “The Haulin’ with Hoker” Malvern Bank East Series point fund will total nearly $35,000 for 2020 and pay down through 15th place. The breakdown is 1. $6,000, 2. $4,000, 3. $3,500, 4. $3,000, 5. $2,500, 6. $2,000, 7. $1,800, 8. $1,600, 9. $1,400, 10. $1,200. 11. $1,150, 12. $1,100, 13. $1,050, 14. $1,025, 15. $1,000. The East Series will also have a point fund inside a point fund for Crate Motor cars (604, 602, 525) 1. $1,500, 2. $800, 3. $300. To collect Series point fund money you must race 75% of the scheduled races and be a Series member.
5. Each series will have a separate set of contingency sponsors. Must be a Series member to collect contingency awards and point fund.
Current contingencies for the East Series:
Speedway Motors, Keyser Manufacturing, Predator Trailers, Rod End Supply, Dynamic Drivelines, Hooker Harness, Keizer Wheels, Penske Shocks, Quick Rescue Roofs have all committed to sponsoring the East Series and we are still trying to gather more sponsors.
6. The rules for both “The Haulin’ with Hoker” Malvern Bank East Series & Malvern Bank West Series will be identical but the race procedures and formats may be different. Rules can be found on the SLMR Series website.
7. There will be no East Series Rookie of the Year in 2020. If you want to run for the 2021 Rookie of the Year, you cannot start more than six combined Series features in 2020 or have started more than six features in previous seasons with the Malvern Bank West Series.
8. All races will pay $400 to-start with the exception of I-80 Speedway on July 22nd that will pay $530 to-start and 300 Raceway on September 5th that will pay $750 to-start.
