Malvern Bank SLMR Series goes to the wire

It’s been a see-saw battle all year in the Malvernbank.com SLMR Series with defending series champion Kyle Berck and Bill Leighton, Jr. swapping the lead back and fourth. Both drivers have four wins in the series this year with Berck retaking the lead on August 28 at the US30 Speedway near Columbus.

The series finale will be on Saturday, October 1 at the I-80 Speedway during Midwest Fall Brawl V with Berck leading Leighton, Jr. by just eight points or four positions. Behind the two leaders in the points race its been an exciting season as well with first time SLMR feature winners Ben Schaller, Andrew Kosiski and Jim Johnson.

The SLMR feature will be paying increased monies with $1,500 to win and $400 to start. SLMR drivers with no more than one race missed in 2016 will be guaranteed an A feature starting position. After the feature is set we will add anyone with perfect attendance (missed one race or less) that has not made the feature.
